SA Motor Sport Park

Project overview:

With the development of the new Motor Sport Park at Tailem Bend SA, major water supply was required. The existing supply line between Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend was required to be utilised to provide sufficient water supply for the development. Located on the far side of the ARTC rail line and the Duke Highway, a HDD alternative was required to install a new steel main.

Description of work:

In consultation with SA Water and the Motor Sport Park developer, SADB designed an alternative to tap into the existing MSCL 900mm main and directional drill under rail and Duke Highway to install 450mm main.

• The works were completed utilising a rock drill rig and civil support to install the main
• Tap into the existing and provide a distribution point for the water main pick at the development
• Total drill length 250 metres.
